Biography
Maia-Maria started to learn piano at the age of 6 and studied with a local piano teacher in Kent until 2015.
When Maia was 10 years old, she moved to Manchester and started to study with Mr. Simon Bottomley, who continued to be her piano teacher for 8 years.
Maia successfully auditioned for a place at Chetham’s School of Music in 2016 and whilst there, she performed in many concerts and competitions, internally and external to the school. Maia also took part in the choir.
Although Maia’s main focus and aim is to pursue solo piano music, she has also performed piano concertos, participated in piano duets and accompanied instrumentalists in duets and trios.
Maia has taken part in competitions in England, Poland and Belgium and has achieved two performance diplomas, in 2019 and 2023.
In 2023, Maia was granted a place at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she is studying for an undergraduate Batchelor’s degree in music, as well as continuing to pursue her piano career, under the tutelage of Richard Ormrod.
