What happens when I arrive?
We have a welcome team who will greet you with a friendly smile. Although most of our services are shown on a screen at the front of church, our stewards will hand you any books you need for the service. If you need help finding a seat, one of our stewards will show you to a pew.
What should I expect when I come to the church Sunday Service?
Our service format is easy to follow, and led from the front so it is always clear what’s going on. Words for the songs, hymns and responsive prayers are projected on a large screen so it’s easy to take part if you want to, but no-one will think badly of you if you stay seated, or choose not to sing We want you to feel at home with us. People of all ages attend our services. If you have young children, don’t worry if they make some noise during the service. For more information see our Sundays page.
What should I wear?
Whatever you feel most comfortable wearing. Just remember that it is an old building so it can feel cool in winter and summer!
Can I take communion?
If you are a committed Christian, love the Lord Jesus and are baptised, or if you normally take communion in your own church then you are welcome to take communion, whatever your denomination. If you’re not, or you’re not sure, you have a choice when your row is invited to receive communion – you can either stay in your seat, or come to the front, keep your hands by your side and one of the ministers will pray for you. Please do whatever is more comfortable for you.
Will there be a collection?
We don’t want you to feel under pressure to give. If you would like to give to the work of our church, we have a few ways you can do this, including contactless, QR codes, a donation ‘safe’ at the back of church, a donation box in Coffee Bar and the Parish Giving scheme.
Are there toilets?
Yes, there are three toilets – there is an accessible toilet at the back of church, just before Coffee Bar, and two toilets in the far corner, just beyond Coffee Bar. Someone will point you in the right direction if you ask.
Is the church accessible for people with disabilities?
The church is accessible via the ramp to the main entrance / front doors. We have an accessible toilet, a ramp into Coffee Bar, a hearing aid loop and large print service sheets.
What about Safeguarding?
