Fair Trade Fortnight- Take a Fair Break

Fair Trade Fortnight- Take a Fair Break

Fair trade fortnight sets aside two weeks every year in which the principles and products of fair trade are promoted and the links between consumers and producers are highlighted.

This year’s Fair Trade fortnight is 27th February to 12th March.

This year to promote Fairtrade Fortnight, Fair 4 All are holding a competition. From March 6th they are inviting people to come to the Fair 4 All stand in the market, and ‘Take a Fair Break and take out exploitation’ by using the photo stands that they will have opposite the Fair Trade stall, to take a selfie on your phone. The boards being used are the kind of thing you see at the seaside where you put your head in the hole and take a photo of yourself. In this case the body on the board will go with the idea of taking a break to kick out poverty. Once the photo has been taken, people then send it to either the Warrington Market Facebook page: @warringtonmarket or Warrington Market Twitter account – #warringtonmarket. The market’s deputy manager will select photos to be added to their pages each day.

At the end of the week the photos selected will be judged and the one deemed the best will be awarded a prize. Also each day throughout the fortnight, Fair 4 All will be giving away a free raffle ticket to each customer, the raffle will be drawn at the end of the fortnight and the prize is a Fairtrade hamper worth £30, see picture below.

At Holy Trinity we support Fair Trade by using Fair Trade tea and coffee in our coffee bar.
