Outstanding Young Musicians’ WACIDOM Saturday Lunchtime Concert

We look forward to hearing the Outstanding Young Musicians’ perform their WACIDOM Saturday Lunchtime Concert at Bold Street Methodist on  Saturday 15th March at 12:30 p.m. They will be playing:
Julie Zhang
Mozart Sonata No. 4, K.282 in E  flat Major Chopin
Waltz Op.70, No.1 in G -at major and No.14 in E minor Op. Post.
Fricker Study Op.38, No.4 and No.2.

Julie was born in 2008 in London. She started her piano training at the age of 5 with Miss Simone Wang, alumna of the Chetham’s School of Music. At the beginning of 2016, she entered Chetham’s School of Music studying piano with Simon Bottomley. At the end of 2018, Julie passed the ATCL exam with a distinction and in the following year, passed the LTCL exam with a distinction. Her repertoire has been greatly expanded including pieces from the Baroque Period to modern music, and she has a particular sympathy with the Romantic Period, especially the painfully beautiful Chopin. Julie also enjoys chamber music, with a great passion and is developing the necessary skills for playing piano concertos.

Summer is 14 years old and lives in Salford. She started to learn the piano when she was 6 years old. She went to Chetham’s school of music in 2013 and studied with Simon Bo9omley from the age of 10. She participated the Chopin competition in Poland when she was 12 and is now is currently working towards her ATCL. Her hobbies are reading, painting, photography, cooking, listening to music and play chess. In her future she would like to become a music teacher and an economist.

Maya is 15 years old and lives in Bury. She started to learn the piano when she was 6 years old and has studied piano with Simon Bo9omley since she was 10. She was a winner in the Polish Chopin Competition in Mazowia when she was 12. When she was 14 years old, she earned a distinction from her ATCL Diploma and is currently working towards her LTCL Diploma. She was asked to audition for BBC Young Musician of the Year 2020. Her hobbies are reading and doing research on nature, evoluon, the universe and climate
change. When she’s older, she would like to study music or zoology.
