Background
The Taverners Brass Ensemble came into being in 1984 formed by young brass players shortly after leaving Music College, with a desire to broaden their musical horizons and a commitment to further develop their instrumental skills and ensemble playing. Having performed extensively on the Northwest Arts circuit during the 80s and early 90s life and work commitments finally impinged on the players’ time and the quintet ceased to meet during the 1990s though all continued to play in other contexts.
The quintet reformed in 2018, revisiting favourite repertoire and adding new. During early rehearsals it became obvious that the members of the quintet retained their enthusiasm for the rich medium of the brass ensemble along with performance opportunities and hope to share this enthusiasm with today’s audience.
This is the last of the current series of WACIDOM concerts. The Concerts return on Saturday 27 April with Galina Vale – Guitar

Thank you for your continued support and wishing you all a very Happy Easter
